Background

Tirisano Consulting Engineers was established by Anton Kloppers and Lucky Jacobs as a black empowerment consulting engineering practice. Since only 4% of the professional engineers in South Africa are from the previously disadvantaged communities, the ownership of Tirisano ensures not only technological excellence, but also needs-driven social awareness.

• empowering individuals and communities to ensure self-sustainability and prosperity.

These processes include:

• application of RDP principles,
• assisting the improvement of IDP- and LDO-processes,
• training and capacity building,
• providing professional advice and assistance to ensure affordable solutions aimed at the needs of the poor,
• sourcing of funding and implementing sustainable projects,
• community participation through facilitation, and
• recruitment and appointment of employees according to the policy of upliftment of PDI's.
